different target audience, if you're over 20 and think shonen is better than seinen something went wrong with your development, nothing wrong with being a kid and thinking shonen is better either but i think even with that taste difference in mind seinen will be better because kids will never have the more developed and critical taste of an adult so shonen will always be low effort

Well shonen has a few requirements, one of them being that good must always triumph over evil. It's supposed to be tonally optimistic. Like no matter how dark or subversive hxh gets, it always lands back with the bad guys losing and the good guys winning. Seinen is allowed to be different, which makes it better.
