I still believe that the only thing that kept the ending from being perfect was Ai going back and seeing the Akas again. A full on "fuck this shit I'm out" from everyone involved ending would have been a perfect way to cap off the series.

I've seen countless anime that ended on a disappointing note, the likes of Shingeki included, but with WEP it feels like my SOUL will not be able to be put to REST, until the studio makes a 1 hour OVA sequel which follows the play-it-safe fanfiction plot often penned here; i.e. Ai pulls the other girls from their depressions and they reunite, they go into the dreamworld one last time, defeat all the monsters and Frill and rescue Neiru.
It's like the studio OWES us after drilling the show into concrete and whatever the hell episode 13 was supposed to be.
