How so? It's a fucking magical world so why couldn't the continents actually be shaped by intent?

You can use magic to justify pretty much any story aspect without it being somehow "objectively" "wrong", but if the majority of people on the first glance judge the thing to be retarded looking, then it's probably high time to do some soul searching and ask yourself if the design choice is actually worth it.
