Character puts their hands against a light

>character puts their hands against a light
>character stares at their hands

Is there some Japanese fixation on hands? Why does this trope keep appearing.

bump

it's very bergmanian and godardian

I dont know but Ive been doing this and thats long before I started watching anime

>character does normal thing
>why does japan do this?

watch more movies, read more books. hand symbolism is a common trope for any media, not just anime

>normal thing
I have never done this in my entire life before seeing it in anime.

it just looks cool. It's the jap version of just staring off into the sunset

Because you are not normal.

You need to get out more

you must be very autistic if you don't understand the symbolism of grasping the sun in your hand
the trope is overused and kind of annoying though

It's a metaphor for Plato's Cave

because humans have hands and we do most of our interactions with the world through them so they symbolize our power or lack thereof depending on context. stop consuming only anime , it makes you mistake universal human things for japanese things

>the trope is overused
name 3 examples without googling it.

the sun is very bright

Naruto, One piece, Kochikame

its not as annoying as the big bad monster/enemy crouching and growling to look menacing trope seen in western media.

Touch grass

Railgun. Let me find a screenshot

it symbolizes that transcendence of limit is only possible by attempting that which appears impossible. it also draws upon a classical buddhist image (pic related). the monkey reaches for the moon's reflection because he can't distinguish it from the real thing and it's closer

how

It looks cool and i agree.

the hand is man's best friend

Then why do hands in shonen tend to be smaller than hands in shojo?
