90's Original Anime Boom

Let's discuss what made this period one of the most productive in anime after the success of Evangelion. Personally, it's amazing how almost every year there was a 10/10 groundbreaking original. What do you guys think?

Also how would you rank these anime?

Money

We need another Evangelion-type boom again

What's the desert looking one with the robot and two people? Is it good?

Now and Then, Here and There

I heard it's decent.

MAHOU SHOUJO MECHA MAHOU SHOUJO MECHA POKEMAN MAHOU SHOUJO MAHOU SHOUJO MECHA MECHA OVA ONA OVA OVA GITS AKIRA MECHA MECHA MECHA MECHA
GOD I HATE YOU FAGS SO FUCKING MUCH

Maybe because people tried to put effort and money in something that has interesting stories and animation? Not to mention back then every isekai was not some power fantasy and people were send home back after the story concluded (most of the time), they delivered a story and explored a interesting setting.
Also I'm still waiting for the guy who made the To The Stars setting (AKA: the one where Outlaw Star takes place in) to do something more with it.

This, only pretend 90s kids act like 90s anime was so much better. So much was utter unwatchable garbage. Biggest difference was that you had to go much much more out of your way to be exposed to it. Where now a retard in peru can stream some obscure doujinshi adaptation, back then only the big works made it to the west.
You think EVA made it big purely because it was a 10/10 super amazing groundbreaking anime? WRONG. It managed to become a household name because it was a "for all ages" anime that aired during prime time during a time at which there was 0 competition, just a sea of nothingness when it came to anime. So salarymen across the nation would come home from work and have dinner with their family with EVA playing on the TV.

All a bunch of pretend wannabe oldfags.

For every anime from the 90s you can name for which this holds true, you can name one post 2000.

I m sure all the mecha toy commercials were a project of passion too i prefer old shit too but cmon you people have a cilds romanticized view of the past.
>Not to mention back then every isekai was not some power fantasy and people were send home back after the story concluded (most of the time), they delivered a story and explored a interesting setting.
They were still mostly shit and absolutely escapism fantasy about having a adventure

Why do you guys insist on this groundhog day cycle of creating these threads to then have them disproven?
Please, for the love of god, look at the anime catalogue of the 90s, 90% is shit, more than 90% even, the vast majority is shit. You just don't remember it that way because over time the only shows people talk about are the good ones. You are talking about a period of 10 years, TEN YEARS, yet it is only ever the same two dozen (if that) shows that ever EVER get brought up in these threads, Eva, Gits, akira, Lain, Bebop, DBZ, Slayers and then soon its just "shonenshit: 90s edition" with pokemans, yugioh etc.

HOW OFTEN. HOW OFTEN ARE WE GOING TO REPEAT THIS SPIEL? PLEASE, I BEG YOU.

the 2000s were better.

>Nadessico
>Escaflowne
>Lain
>Bebop
>10/10
lol

That's not what the thread is about. At all. This is talking about the wave of anime originals that came out after the success of Evangelion, which is why Bebop and Lain were mentioned. This isn't saying "the 90s is the best decade", It's looking at a specific period of anime, not just a decade.

> look at the anime catalogue of the 90s, 90% is shit
This doesn't disprove that.
>TEN YEARS
This doesn't even concern the first half of the 90s. They all came after 1995.
>Eva, Gits, akira, Lain, Bebop, DBZ, Slayers
GITS, Akira, DBZ and Slayers aren't anime original so they shouldn't be discussed here. Please read the thread before posting

see

>90s
90% shit, 5% good, %5 percent masterpieces
>2010s
90% dogshit, 5% decent% 5% good

Fine, we'll limit it to post '95 and to original anime only. MY POINT STILL STANDS, ALL YOU HAVE DONE IS APPLIED A MORE RIGOROUS FILTER TO WHAT LITTLE THERE IS TO LOOK AT TO BEGIN WITH.

>mahou shoujo copy paste shows rate higher than isekai copy paste shows
your brain on microplastics

Retard. 90% of everything is shit doesn't mean you can't compare art periods

80s anime is better than 90s anime
