Just finished watching 4 for the 1st time, and I didn't hate it.
Don't get me wrong this franchise as a whole is horribly mismanaged, and the rebuilds are poorly written (not too different than the og series), but the ideas specifically in 3 & 4 are much more interesting than the original imo.
Execution-wise I don't see 4 as that different than EoE. They both have the same problems.
>weird left turn from what was set up
>lots of art-wank (tho the poor cg makes 4 worse)
>Explaining shit at the last second to make the immediate pay off "work" despite not allowing time for these elements to properly create stakes
>not explaining lots of other shit from previous episodes/movies
>thinking it's explaining anything to the viewer, but just dumping incoherent lore-babble
Eva 3+1=4
But despite all that there's genuinely better ideas in here.
Slice of life Rei is very appealing, too bad they killed that so quickly.
Showing the world, how it works, and how the other characters fit in.
Trying to rationalize Gendo as opposed to EoE spelling out shinjis mental state which seems obvious.
Key word being trying because I don't think they earned what they gave us. "I thought abandoning and hating you would be redemption for losing Yui" like wut. But I like the idea of Gendo being the final boss. It was satisfying to see shinji finally kinda sorta somewhat point out Gendos hypocrisy.
As well as everyone else getting their closure, even if it doesn't make sense, the attempt is appreciated. The way Rei was built up through all the rebuilds I thought it made sense for her to end up with shinji. I'd feel better about it being Mari if she wasn't OK with killing shinji in the opening of 3.
What I don't feel has closure is why this timeline specifically changed enough to finally end the loops.
Also the whole shoot shinji scene made no sense. They had no options left and know what Gendo was trying to do, why would they think shinji trying to stop him could be any worse than doing nothing?
I'll never watch this trash.
milking that much a well made anime it's heresy.
I mean I'm coming from the place that I don't think anything in this franchise outside of character designs are well made
Did you really need to use a picture from disgusting hentai?
Watching anything that people call a franchise is a bad idea.
Disgusting?
Normies, journos, and autismos alike have been telling me Eva is the greatest thing ever and I've spent years trying to understand what they see in it. 3&4 are the only entries I can understand people remotely enjoying
Mari molesting Asuka is always disgusting.
She should be with me instead
You stay away from my daughter, user!
I want to ravage her pussy 24/7.
Keep cumming in her even after there's no cum left to cum. Keep her body in an unholy miasma of orgasm
She needs more than sex to be happy. Just be a good lad and stay away from her. I will make everything right in time.
Asuka is a purely sexual being who's insatiable cock craving must be satisfied. But don't worry we'll take vidya breaks every now n then.
Good for you user. I enjoyed it too, despite it's flaws, it does do some things pretty well. Though I wish they did those things it did well with a little more attention instead of just the bare minimum.
Yeah, there's plenty of stuff the movie borrows from EoE. Rather, it builds off of the stuff from EoE, except it's recontextualised into a more positive thing.
Yeah Gendo's thing felt a little undeserved, and made me feel like the attention that should have been directed to the other, significantly major characters was instead siphoned away by Gendo's scene. Ah well, it was important to Anno, apparently, so that's why he got it (which is strange though, considering Anno doesn't have any kids like Gendo?)
>What I don't feel has closure is why this timeline specifically changed enough to finally end the loops.
Call it fate I guess? Lmao. It ends because the author wanted it to.
>Also the whole shoot shinji scene made no sense
Yeah, this is one of the things the movie decided to borrow from EoE. It's kind of there for the sake of being there, like how Ritsuko shoots Gendo again, but just shoving it in there was a little hamfisted.
However, I do think the movie tries to do a thing where it establishes ideas with as little dialogue or runtime as possible (kind of to the movie's detriment), and I think they wanted to show Misato straight up take a bullet instead of a drawn out discussion between her, Shinji and the crew in order to get the idea she's still Shinji's Ride-or-Die in a single stroke. I don't think it was the best way to do it, but I'll admit it was efficient and effective.
You confuse your persistent sexual fantasies for real Asuka. She is an innocent and pure kid, not some modern degenerate bimbo. You need to think what is good for her, not for your dick.
I suppose it's a rite of passage to ask in these kinds of threads:
What did YOU think the ending was, OP?
This. Only violent sex can sate Cuntsuka's anger and emotional issues
But my dick is what's good for her. It's a miracle cure.
I have big doubts about that. You're just trying to justify your sexual obsession with an innocent teenager.
In nge? No idea since most of the plot stuff isn't explained until the very end. Thought it would be more angel shenanigans not mass produced Eva's coming out of nowhere because they forgot to give the secret illuminati group something to do.
For rebuild, I just expected competent, consistent, and coherent writing with a gradual build up in stakes to something that felt set up, not just
>specifically now is the end because gendo says so
She's far from innocent
Any actual proofs aside from your perverted sexual fantasies about her?
Kill yourself wojaknigger
