Dubs

I finally realized that Japanee dubs are superior because Japanese is a very musical language even in casual conversation, their intonations even in simple dialogues is "melody-based" if you know what I mean which allows for extra expression

>I'm American and I have no contact with foreign languages

No nigger. Dubs are always inferior to the original.

There are languages pleasing to the ear, like japanese and some romance languages, and there are less pleasing languages like the vkusterfuck that is english

English can be pleasing. It depends on the accent, and most accents are shit. Also Jap VAs are usually better, but for American shows American VAs can be pretty good on occasion. The American Mid-Atlantic accent (like old-timey radio shit youtu.be/fRB5177diII) was smooth. Posh English accents are nice, too.
In everyday speak Japanese is not much different than any other language. The only actually disgusting language I've ever heard is Taiwanese. It's horrible youtu.be/2mCSYvcfhtc
Chinese is also pretty ugly.

It just so happens that the autistic over-the-top character archetypes that are prevalent in anime sound better in japanese. There are some anime character archetypes which sound fine in english (ex: the chill/cool character), but the vast majority sound better in japanese.
The reason why the Cowboy Bebop dub is better than other dubs is because that anime is based off of various western media/motifs, so english voices often fits the characters fine.

English dubs are just fucking bad. That's all there really is to it.

>be me
>literally Japanese
>"hmmm I wonder what the Americans are talking about"
>literally retarded

This is why everyone hates you.

Hellow Japanese man.
queston, was all that bullshit he mentioned about "melody-based" true?

all the jav moaning sounds melodious to me.

The original dub is better because it involves a sound design team that works directly with the rest of the staff. If you ever watched a movie a re-dubbed movie, all the environmental effect of their voices gets completely lost and the voice acting will be not what the creators intended.

Occasionally I will re-watch a show in ENG just to compare the voice acting to the original. ENG Dubs are getting better, and by better I mean they've reached a point where they are tolerable on average instead of insufferable.

JP Voice Acting is often superior to ENG because Voice Acting is considered a serious profession in Japan while in America, where most of the ENG dubs come from, it's considered a joke and not a "real job"
The fact that most of the people who work in "localization" and voice acting in general are either racist, apathetic or both doesn't help the situation.

English sounds fine and some accents can really bring it up, unless you're referring to the modern "lingo" born of irony/cringe culture people are using in a desperate attempt to fit in and be funny.
Only language I really can't stand hearing is Chinese, a truly revolting language.

That's because the Japanese actually give enough of a shit to try and do the character justice. If the character screams, they'll scream, if the character cries, they'll cry, if the character is excited, they'll be excited. Sure it doesn't always hit the mark, sure there are some times where it sounds terrible but they fucking try. Which is more than be said for the majority of ENG Voice Actors.
It's not like over-the-top characters don't exist in western media. Even as far as English Dubs are concerned, you have characters like Major Armstrong from FMA, Goku & Vegita from Dragon Ball or the entire cast from Hellsing: Ultimate so it's not like they're incapable of doing it. Hell, I'd even say that the English voice acting in Konosuba is on par with the original JP voice acting.
The majority of the problems with bad ENG voice acting is that no one cares, they have no pride in their work and it shows.

I used to use a couple of old anime English dubs to argue that English dubs can be really good but later out of curiosity I decided to watch a Japanese anime episode subbed and I literally repeated the lines after the characters in Japanese (I have some fragmentary knowledge of Japanese, enough to get a grasp on simple dialogue).
I realized that the seiyuus weren't simply reading the lines, whenever they said even easy stuff like "doshtano" or "hee", etc. They were pronouncing their lines as if they were singing a song, their vocal chords were under musical tension if that makes sense, when I speak in English, I don't do that. But in Japanese they do.
So I came to the conclusion that the superiority of Japanese dubs is an inherent feature of the melodic nature of the Japanese language.
Therefore, Japanese dubs truly are unique

It's also a very punny language. Nips can make jokes that flow smoothly into conversations that it often gets lost in translation over into English.

As a part Chinese man I can vouch. Chinese music is particularly painful to listen to unless there's no vocals.

I mean, VAs can say ohayou really well but I doubt non-2D Japanese is that good
