Does anyone modify their video subtitles so that the main lines are on the top? I have a really bad neck and have realized that tilting my head down so that I can read the subtitles at the bottom of the screen is a problem. I am contemplating swapping the subtitles so that the primary location is the top and the secondary location is the bottom. Does anyone else do this? Is there some easy way in aegisub I can flip where the sub locations are?

This a genuine old wangblows version or just a skin?
It doesn't feel THAT old. MPC-HC still runs on it so no real reason to upgrade.
Edit the sub style and change the alignment from 2 to 8.
Oh, win7, i thought it was a prior version. I use it as well.
>tilting my head down so that I can read the subtitles
Am I retarded or are you literally tilting your head down to read subtitles? Just move your eyeballs, genius. Your head stays in the same spot.
My neck is so jacked up I have to tilt it down a certain amount so I can move my eyes down. It takes months for me to work it back into place like a reasonable person's neck, then I go and usually fuck it up at some point. If I had a couch + TV setup it wouldn't be an issue, but I have to watch at my desk until I can find a new place to live (which'll be a while).
>Does anyone modify their video subtitles
Yes mostly the styling. I make sure my whole collection uses the same styling.
>so that the main lines are on the top?
No it's called "sub"title after all. But scripts from CR often use a Top style so the subtitles aren't in the way of credits etc.
>Is there some easy way in aegisub I can flip where the sub locations are?
Open the Stylemanager (pink S in the top bar). Select the style and hit edit and put the alignment on 8 (default is 2). The numbers represent the position on the numpad on your keyboard.
oh man what if you rotated a half turn and put them on the left so you could watch laying down
I have a curious problem with MPC-HC.
when toggling between episodes, I use the Page Down key to advance to the next episode.
However, I've discovered that accidentally pressing the delete key actually deletes the episode from my computer entirely.
A lot of the anime I have saved on my computer is from sub groups that don't exist, and the series are not on nyaa or bakabt, which means I can't simply re-download the file.
tl;dr: how do I disable the delete function in MPC-HC?
You can unbind that key or set it to something random in options -> player -> keys
>aegisub
....lol just edit your mpv.conf file retard
Just use mpv lol
Fug, this is what I was afraid of. I combed through all the styles to make sure nothing would overlap, but I missed some. Using aegisub AND excel AND mpc just to watch my vietnamese cave paintings?
Screw it, this is hurting my neck even more. Thanks for all the help everyone, it was worth a try.
>You can unbind that key or set it to something random in options -> player -> keys
Thanks user, I appreciate the help.
I don't understand why a media player has the ability to irretrievably delete the media you're watching while you're watching it, but that cleared up the problem.
Thank you again.
nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i dont know what that means
Or you could sit far enough from your monitor to be able to see the entire thing at a single glance.
SUB titles belong in the 2 alignment. Set decent margins so the lines arent glued at the bottom and the sides.
For 1080p video try the following:
>120 Left
>120 Right
>81 Vert
Make sure the script resolution is the same as the video. If the script has typesets like in your picrel leave it as is or you gonna fuck them up.
what the fuck do you have in your neck for this to be that big of a problem
Never bothered exercising or doing any of the PT for my bad back when I was younger, so I'm paying for it now that I'm old and working all the time. Exercising will fix the problem, but my legs are now fucked from not walking during the chinese flu shutdowns. Take a break from the computer every once in a while, your future self will thank you.
Just put your monitor on a thick book, genius.
