I just watched all of Evangelion including the End of Evangelion, and honestly I don't really know what to think. Firstly, the Christian and Jewish symbolism appears to be mainly inserted into the show in order to merely look cool, however one could see that the theme of the elevation and integration of conciousness in the instrumentality project kind of correspond to the kabbalistic goal of the reintegration and mystical union with God (a notion which go figure, the kikes stole from the neoplatonists and others), which is expressed primarily through the tree of life with its sephirot. Additionally of course Shinji assumes the function of a Christ-like figure at the end, which is obvious. Nonetheless I do not think that the show really possesses much substance in its themes and message, the most that I took from it at the end was a message against escapism, which is quite ironic but a good message notwithstanding. Although I do not know much about psychology, the all of the characters with their flaws appear to be a clear freudian attempt at subversion, all too common nowadays. In conclusion, it all seems a bit reddit-tier to be honest, although it is one of the better animes, its lack of philosophical depth proves that even in the best this medium has to offer it comes short of being a truly edifying work. But I probably was retarded expecting such from it.

Thoughts?

>he doesn't elaborate his points

But I probably was retarded expecting such from it

If you disagree with me, I would love to know why

If you can't understand the essence of my points I don't know what to tell you

Shorten it to 20 words or less, then I’ll listen.

do you have dyslexia or something?

What do you consider a worthy philosophical work that's unlike Evangelion?

Yea pretty much. People who only like things with "philosophical depth" are completely insuffereable though. I notice you didn't mention anything about the direction, visuals or atmosphere, so perhaps lilterature is more to your taste.

tractatus logico-philosophicus

The Kabbalah elements are more profound if you look at details (specific episodes match the mystic significance attributed to the numbers of their air days). But, yeah, it's mostly Anno toying with the idea.
Btw if you want an actual profound message, go read a book. Visual medium is really not suited for conveying philosopical/religious ideas in any meaningful way ("show don't tell" and all that).

Thanks.

>Thoughts?
you're retarded

In what medium?
You are correct while I do not find much substance to it, obviously it is a well-crafted work of art with fine aesthetics.

Elaborate please

I'm curious of meaningful works in literature or film.

Well the Iliad for starters, or the Bhagavadgita

first of all you literally can't even write a short paragraph without inserting a slur. more importantly, trying to call evangelion "reddit-tier" just shows that you don't have any genuine interest in discussing the show. additionally, from the way you write, it's very clear you're like 15 and have seen a total of 3 or 4 anime in your life. come back in 20 years.

Now, if you want an anime with real depth, try Revolutionary Girl Utena. You may never fully understand it, but it is one of the most profound anime.

Both are literary works and the second is more of a sacred text than a work of art.

Why do you speak like a robot?
What's your opinion on it? Everything you say sounds like you're trying to be objective, I'm more interested to know what you did or didn't enjoy. You know making a thread like this isn't going to change anybodies opinion of Eva so the best you can do is just toss your hat in the ring

Firstly, if you aren't redpilled in 2022 I don't know what you say to you. Secondly, the fact that I asked for elaboration from you and others completely disproves your assertion. Finally I was rambling a bit however I believe my points are distinguishable, and yes I have not watched that much anime, but I do not see how that is relevant.
Then perhaps one of Andrei Tarkovsky's films, Stalker for instance.

I enjoyed the show itself, it was a good anime and one of my favorites, what I did not enjoy was the fact that the themes and symbolism seemed to be lackluster, and I cannot shake disappointment from my mind. I created this thread because I wanted to see if anyone else felt differently, or picked up something which I missed.

You have the most basic intellectual taste ever. I literally guessed what books and film you were gonna bring up before you said them because you're a dime a dozen among people who think they're smart
