I feel the same about season 4 I don't care about any of the shit that's going on also idk if its because of the timeskip or what but I feel so detatched from all of these characters even though I've been following this anime for years. Legit dont care when they die when I used to feel sad about even the most insignificant side characters. This show has more hype than ever but for me watching it feels lamer than ever.

Idk about you, but for me it was the directing, season 1-3 was excellent, it was one of the best directed anime i've seen.
Compare reiner and berthold reveal to the declaration of war (which was supposed to be the peak of snk imo).

My guess is Isayama didn't have things entirely figured out way back then, but that doesn't change the fact that her motives are shit
He probably had some different concept in mind back then, for example some country which wasn't too small (not the global-scale Marley stuff)

She mentions that she's grateful to Reiner and Bertolt because without meeting their group she probably would have stayed a titan forever (it's not easy getting a chance to eat someone with one of the nine main titans), so she basically wanted to give her life for theirs (since she knew that they would be massively fucked if they didn't bring at least something after 5 years of staying inside the walls) as a way of thanking them

I haven't read the manga, only glanced at some chapters. From what I've noticed, the first arc from season 3 is the one that had the most changes (e.g. the whole "haha armin is impersonating a woman" shtick is from the anime, they also cut out character interactions), as well as Historia's character, she's more brutal in the manga (at one point she says "no more nice krysha, i just acted that way" in front of multiple people)
