I've heard more than a few people complain that it's boring and that Tsukasa is insufferable to watch as a main character.
and that's just among people that actually watched it and didn't just instantly walk away because "old anime bad"

The ost is godly.

Its one of my favorite shows, and the OST is my favorite of any anime

yeah as it just about every OST Kajiura has ever worked on so I didn't want to bring that part up because there's plenty of works that are more or less known first (and maybe even only) for their soundtrack. The song lyrics are very well tailored to the themes of the anime though like isolation and despair.

I think as a story it still has merit basically. Especially since it came long before Sword Art did.
