Best OP of its season, but otherwise it was a bit whatever. The main plot was dumb but the individual adventures were fun occasionally.

More like the Kaiba of the 10s. Both underrated, surreal, amazing ost, good animation and directing, the plot driven second half being a bit rushed, the gayness, I could go on.

Completely overcriticized. I also wasn't much of a fan of them at first, but they made use of all the hints of plot and backstory that the previous episodes gave us. It's as if most people either didn't notice that or just didn't want a payoff. I got so tired of defending the end for a few months after the show ended, and the shitposting it got from winning the AOTY poll sure didn't help, because of course they latched onto that as the biggest piece of criticism.
