Hi, quick question. What the fuck is wrong with the Japanese? Why can't they into endings whatsoever? Berserk had some of the best writing I ever saw in a manga, Golden Age arc is borderline Shakespearean. But the manga never fucking ended. It could have ended back in 2004 and everyone would consider it a masterpiece. Instead its been going on for 32 years with no end in sight, it outlived its creator. We could have had a good, well-written ending. Instead it was dragged out forever and the quality + art kept slipping with each issue
Hunter x Hunter: Another pretty good series. Author basically kills himself with a super long story arc via Chimera Ant, but writes the shorter Election Arc and ends it on a good stopping point. EXCEPT he then starts a brand new political thriller arc which will be about as long as Chimera Ant, + promises a new superlong story arc once they reach the Dark Continent And its evident that the author has no intention of continuing it whatsoever. Why? Why didn't he just fucking end it at a decent stopping point? Add a few chapters to wrap up Leorio and Kurapika's stories and it would have been fine. Instead, its a joke.
Why do authors keep doing this shit? One Piece and Dragon Ball get a pass, they basically print money. But consider some other shows: Dragon Maid has been serialized for 9 years, OPM was first penned 13 years ago, Demon Slayer is 6 years old, etc. Dont these retards want to end their series right? If you walk into an American comic book store (gross, I know) you wont find a Batman serial thats been going on since nineteen fucking ninety one. Instead you'll find a "spinoff" or a "reboot." Why cant more manga just do that? Gundam does it every other year and they're doing just fine.
What will it take to beat some integrity into these terrible mangaka and teach them that a decent ending is worth way more than just milking a series dry until you peter out with a shitty final chapter--or DIE before its over.
Because you fail to comprehend the basic nature of serialization.

You fail to realize that there are several serialized graphic novels + comics from other countries which don’t have this problem.

Move the goalpost further, I don't give a shit. Capeshit comics have no ending whatsoever, they're forever trapped in the second act. Graphic Novels are not comparable to series that run for a decade and more. Piss off back to Any Forums

>Graphic Novels are not comparable to series that run for a decade and more You’re right, they actually have good endings sometimes. Enjoy the 1100th chapter of One Piece, faggot. I hope Luffy beats the bad guy with no longlasting consequences AGAIN this time!

Some manga aren't really a story, but are just a "setting" that the mangaka will improvise on. These tend to not have good endings, since they stop whenever they stop selling. Short non-axed manga tend to have good endings, longer series can have good endings but usually not if they are more than 20 vol

kek someone is malding on Any Forums just stop reading manga and go somewhere else I guess
Fuck off, go back to Any Forums. There's a reason manga is beating comics.

Stomp your feet harder in impotent rage, manbaby.

Stop reading dumb shit with plot
Gavin Johnson
but user if he did that then he'd have to consider that there are hundreds of thousands of manga out there with plenty that end just fine instead of crying to strangers
