I'll never understand why some people want to remove honorifics for works that are set in JAPAN.
It's the only setting where they make sense.
While it's more understandable for wanting to remove them for works that are set elsewhere, I think they should always be preserved no matter what because they add more to the characters' relationships.
Sudden honorific changes are a pain to translate, especially when they come out of nowhere.
