Rui is a known leftist and has made two blatantly political manga that was all about shitting on conservative Japanese government and Trump. There's also a transgender character in Hagure Idol. Yes it's very heavy handed but it doesn't take up the entire focus of the manga nor does in detract from the fun shit.
