Imagine wasting your time watching this. R07 tards never learn.

When Rika was slapped in the face with a pan

TFW no yuri despite all the hints

SatoKei fag having meltdowns every episode was worth it

I really think the discussion in the final 2 episodes focusing only on high school after the entire season had built the witch stuff being one of the main issues with the finale. It just makes everything else feel pointless.

The witch split, the stuff about her only being able to feel enjoyment from moving pieces, her not being bothered by her old tragedies anymore... none of that had any pay off in the ending.

Well, we did have the Lambda/Bern speech/scene, but it feels completely disconnected from everything else in the finale and doesn't really address any of that stuff mentioned before.

Satoko could have just said no to Rika and stay in the village but no she had to be retarded.
The was contrived as fuck.

Probably the chair

Rika legitmately giving up hope when Satoko left her home. None of that other murder & tragedy fazed her in those 100 years of looping. But this one incident was enough to make her give up completely. Total bullshit

Montage of happy endings for characters the show did not give a shit about, with a new version of the theme in the background

Read Meguri.

Although, really, the fact Meguri had to change the main issue with Satoko's early loops ties directly into how there's no way she would have spent 2 centuries in the St.Lucia years without achieving anything like Sotsu claimed in the last episodes. The only way to make those loops work would be add some new conflict to them like seen in Meguri.

There were plenty but that miko fight near the end was absolutely hilarious and stupid. The manga seems to delve more in why Satoko decided to become unhinged though.

If it doesn’t happen on screen it doesn’t count

I dropped the anime in about 5 episodes into Sotsu.
Did the other characters become relevant again or it's just Satoko and Rika drama?

Watch it

spbp

It becomes the Satoko and Rika show. With Satoko making le crazy looper eyes and smiling like the Joker each episode.

This. Holy shit. It wasn't just tone deaf. It was spiteful.

No, it's Satoko and Rika bullshit through and through, they even double down on the school/studying shit at the end rather than point to Satoko's attachment issues.
The only time the rest of the gang matters is when they tell Satoko and Rika some obvious lesson about "friends are still friends even when apart" that those two gremlins couldn't understand by themselves.

The lyrics of the Sotsu You are only about Satoko/Rika at least.
-
So many thousands of tales
Which continue incessantly;
I sing of them for you,
My beloved one

Without fail,
We were always together
Amidst those tender days
Like the warmth of the sun

As we embraced those sorrowful fragments
Which overflowed from our hands,
The mature cherry blossoms
Encourage us with a push from behind

We rolled around in laughter
For no reason at all
Frolicking on our way back home
Along the paddy fields

Even to this everlasting
Scenery from above;
It's time to bid farewell,
Even if just for now

Today is the day
For your graduation, so—
See you again, when something else cries

This calendar which I had flipped
Together with you;
When tomorrow comes,
I'll turn it over on my own

At that very moment in which
You were born into this world,
I awakened as well
Within that very world

It almost felt like coincidence
Had melted into an inevitability,
As both of our hearts overlapped
Like they were one

These crying voices
Have had their fill of singing
So within my pocket they go,
Neatly tucked away

Pretending to not know
What the future held,
We fooled around together
As much as we could

That glorious form of you at your best—
Searing it into my mind, I depart, so,
See you again, when something else cries

Music from the festival echoes
Both faraway and nearby,
Lighting a flame in every heart
As it goes by

As I move on from the scenery
Which I can never return to again,
I can't help but nurse
A small ache within my heart

Within my hometown,
The cries of the cicadas chorus
Across the sky, the mountains
And nights of moon and stars

And at long last, they overcome
Even the snowy storms ;
As cherry trees stand proud in full bloom

I'll bundle all of my parting words
And send them your way;
As a story of how we persevered—
For us and only us

Your poems which speak
Of todays and tomorrows in thousands,
Are sure to turn into flowers
As they shower upon me

Sotsu might genuinely be one of the worst anime I've seen. To the point where I want to have a conversation with R07, and ask him what he was even thinking. Like, the fucking school shit. Even the most hack writer would realize it should just be a metaphor for Satoko's greater issues... But the finale hammered in it was school that was the problem. R07 talked about how he found Satoko relatable, cause he didn't do well in school.

It's the most juvenile thing imaginable. A literal child throwing a tantrum that they have to do their homework. But instead of the very obvious answer that they're wrong, and need to learn how to behave and mature, it's the parent going: "maybe they have a point." Even though they wrecked the living room while doing their bitch fit.
