It does have a handful of original stories from when the characters were little kids. And there was an original trial in season 2 that took place on a train. It's a shame that there wasn't more of that.
The weird thing is, some of the best cases in the game were kinda mediocre in the anime, but the worst cases went through changes that actually made them worth watching.
