Did Yang become a martyr for democracy?
Did Yang become a martyr for democracy?
No. Everyone is living just fine under the Lohengramm regime and don't really care about muh democracy whatsoever.
Yeah, that's the irony of his character arc.
unfortunately
Yep and his reputation helped create a posthumous cult of personality. The sad thing is the poor bastard is probably rolling in his grave over his legacy.
Most definitely.
At least he left good people in Iserlohn, not all is lost when the Empire implodes again.
This series sucks. It's a soap opera with fujobait characters for worldly politics-obsessed midwits, topped off with awful meandering pacing to boot.
Yang was a government lackey. How pitiful the way he was able to live while also being the most important commander for the Alliance. He constantly uncomfortably joked about his shit salary and absolutley garbage pension while the equally and even less deserving Empire's commanders were living the high life and recognized. Muh Democracy treated its hero like trash and he didn't even wanna do it. He literally had no choice because he signed a contract. Yang is funny, and he has some good quips. Yang is the type of character some stoner faggot from that little alien shit board idolizes without realizing he's both lucky and doesn't even give a shit. His own democracy treated him like an enemy most of the time. AND THOSE FUCKING GAY UNIFORMS. This nigga Yang was broke, couldn't take care of himself, drank way to much, and his best friend was a kid and he fucked his secretary who is literally some butch.
>I hate real life and geo politics I'd prefer to just die with my fujo bait figurines in my room.
democracy will always turn to corporatism
while Fascism will always begin infighting when the head dies
take the monarchy pill
>Fascism is bad because infighting but Monarchy doesn't have that problem
special type of stupid
You know an empire IS a monarchy, right?
You know the empire was shit for centuries, right?
You know it will become shit again a few decades later, right?
>this space opera is just a soap opera with space politics
thats why its called space opera. it sure as hell ain't because a fat lady sings at the end
yes
>VLC
decadence will always happen no matter what. but look at democracy and them look at Monarchy and see which one declines faster. also you look at Monarchy civil wars they often don't hurt the Civilians. you know like the rose-war and the other conflicts. do Civilians die yea but not as much as democracy this is because when your a democracy who do you blame for the problem look at America right now left vs right. with a Monarchy you wont get that it is in the interest of the monarchs to make it as stable as possible
>empire IS a monarchy
empires and monarchy are different look at the American empire
>shit for centuries
by what standards did they have iphones 6 ? no but for their time they stop slavery and made living better for all their Civilians
>You know it will become shit again a few decades later, right?
decadence will always happen no matter what
Patently false. Monarchy, ACTUAL monarchy, not mascots like modern England, literally devolve into wars every ten or so years at best. If you had actually read a single history book you'd know that. It's an inefficient system in the extreme, encouraging corruption at massive levels compared to actual Republics. Because the entire thing is literally built on Mafia-esque patronage networks.
>also you look at Monarchy civil wars they often don't hurt the Civilians
Imagine actually believing this.
The whole time during the series, considering how it was approaching its ending, I kept thinking their meeting would be what everything was building up to.
Yang believed in democracy, but he had grievances with how it was being hijacked by corrupted bureaucrats and how the masses are easily manipulated by it.
Reinhardt believed in meritocracy, but he was keenly aware that while a miraculous leader may unify the universe, his duty is to create a ruling class for tomorrow able to take the baton.
With both of them knowing the other, and both of them being smart enough to realize what the end point of both trains of thought would be, there is no way that a meeting would result in anything but a common agreement of "We should collaborate in creating a monarchic representative republic".
So, with that said.
Why the FUCK are both of their IQs halved just for the duration of their conversation?
Why the fuck does Yang lose every ounce of complexity to his thoughts and go "Hurrr no absolute democracy or bust"
Why the fuck does Reinhardt go against what he himself believes and go "Yang join me we'll make the best tyrannical dictatorship ever"
Why? Just why?
That's what I find absolutely inexcusable about the series.
There was no fucking way, after 100 episodes of these two's ideologies slowly growing towards a common point, that they wouldn't figure out what the common ground was.
It was absolute bullshit, the shittiest, plot-justifying bit of garbage writing of the entire series.
It arguably makes the entire thing not worth watching since it'll just shit on everything it had posed until then just so it can have some nonsensical final arc about le sekret space jews.
you are incorrect monarchy is the most stable government ever made and you look at any history book you would know that tell me about all the civil wars austria-hungary and prussia had
they never had them they last much longer
>encouraging corruption at massive levels compared to actual Republics
what in what why is that true tell me a pallerment that is not corrupt it is easier to bribe a senator than a king that owns every thing and need to leave the country to his child . also they can not kick the can down the road like a Republic because they just blame the opponent that is also corrupt. that not even taking in that it is to the politician best interest to dumb down the population so he can get away with a lot more
that image is to kingdoms going to war i mean in a civil war
>Because the entire thing is literally built on Mafia-esque patronage networks.
So are democracies, dumbass.
>100 plus episodes of going head to head
>Thinking either of them would budge even an inch.
>Thinking Yang has a high IQ.
Yang was a good strategist in that he always got some stroke of luck. Other than that he was miserable pleb who was broke and hated his job like the rest of the idiots that are living in his democracy. His own gov't hated him and mistrusted him no matter how many times he saved them from the brink of destruction. This faggot was literally weird about his own marriage and wife after trying to fuck his secretary. Loser couldn't even take care of himself.
>that image is to kingdoms going to war i mean in a civil war
You don't even know which conflict it is do you?
Reinhardt you really got to let go and accept you never beat him. It's your worse flaw.
