Why not? It's probably on par with Ranma in terms of popularity in Japan and had a solid 95 episodes run, but all the OVAS and movies of the series thus far have been live action. It could really use a fresh coat of paint.

The Japanese PTA would kyoani whatever TV station tried making a new version of this show, or it wouldn't have the series most important ingredient.

if the uy reboot could find a way to get on air im sure this one can as well, it's light ecchi at best

I don't wee why you are trying to bring attention to an irrelevant 80s gag anime simply because it had a couple pantyshots in it.
You give old anime a bad rep.

It's actually a fairly decent series as far as gag anime go, the panty stuff is just the most overt part of it. Maybe try watching something first before judging it in the future.

I don't know, it's highest claim to fame seem to be getting a spot on some online poll.

I thought it was the fact it actually got pulled off air after too many parents calling in saying it’s inappropriate

Why do people cling so hard to an 80s show who's highest claim to fame is getting cancelled for being inappropriate?

And then they use said show to claim that old anime was just as much otaku infested as new anime, when shows like this were such an absurd thing for the time they got cancelled.

Then they claim taht fan service is just a part of Japanese culture and you don't get it when in fact Japanese society is veey prude.

I don't know who keeps posting this show but it's kinda refreshing since Any Forums usually only talks about 3 or 4 80s series' over and over again until they're truly beat into the ground (just look at the fate of the once good UY threads)
So is this actually worth watching? Not everything managed to get nearly 100 episodes back then so it's had to have some appeal
