Dubs are better than subs for the obvious reason that you can't understand Japanese, and so draw much of your attention to reading a script rather than enjoying the digital artwork and subtleties of the anime itself.
Subs objectively sound bad, the Japanese voice acting is poor and not in line with western standards of acting. If you prefer this foreign culture shock nuance than you are a deluded weaboo
I hear often that Japanese viewers prefer English dub to their own subs. It might just be a case of novelty. Your own cultures voice acting probably sounds like shit because people often don't talk like they do in anime.
It's probably why Naruto became huge in the west(A show about ninjas based in japanese culture) and One Piece became huge in the East(a show about pirates based in eastern culture).
You don't need to understand a language to see what is or isn't good voice acting. I thought subs were better before I understood Japanese and I think they're better now after I learned it as well, maybe even more so.

Someone unironically believing this argument shouldn't be watching anime in the first place, with all the media originally available in English.
William Gutierrez
>you can't understand Japanese >implying
Easton Lewis
Jokes on you, I watch subs and learn to speak and understand Japanese while watching animé.
Alexander Morris
Western voice actors are trash who only get their jobs through nepotism wtf are you on
James Kelly
weak bait.
Henry Williams
I liked Yakuza 7 dub because they used a procedural lip sync tool auto lip sync means they can write an english script without having to worry about timing to match jap lip flaps and english video game voice direction is simply much better than english anime So it's not a matter of baseless snobbery, anime english dubs are just complete shit while japs are very good at it
Colton Williams
Why do I always see that demon Slater reaction pic with the most stupid fucking take of all-time?
Hudson Richardson
*George Takei was shit casting though
Lincoln Taylor
>Sorry to rain on your neckneards parade here but... What's a neckneard?
>japanese prefer eng dubs literally never heard of this, unless you meant hollywood movies jap dub of hollywood movies are pretty shit
Luke Campbell
>draw much of your attention to reading a script Imagine not being able to read fast Imagine not being able to acclimate over time Imagine being this dim of wit >you can't understand Japanese Something wrong with your brain that stops you from learning another language? >Subs objectively sound bad It's ham acting, retard. And it's what I come for. Or do you think I want realistic acting people in a series about shooting lasers from one's finger tips or shooting fire from your feet so hard you perform quantum leaps? Do you honestly think grounded voice acting is a concern at that point? It's for that reason that people don't like Dubs, they're TOO grounded and not hammed up enough. People like you are why weebshit, among other nerdy ass hobbies, should have been fiercely and unrelentingly gatekept.
Parker Gomez
>wasting his focus on audio The true superb way to watch anime is to watch it muted without subs and let animation do the talking. If you can't enjoy anime like this, then there is a good chance that your anime is shit.
Dominic Sanders
>He has to WATCH anime to enjoy it >Not just letting your PC play the anime (muted of course) and doing something else entirely, enjoying the anime purely through the ether and oneness with the universe If an anime can't entertain you on a spiritual level, what's the point?
