My heart just froze for a moment becuase I know nothing about black jack, I saw that it ran between 93 and 2000, I went and streamed the episode to see if the last few epiosdes were digital becuase that used to happend and clicked on episode 11 and it was actually digital, but then I realized it was an episode form the 2011 continuation.
sauce nao seperates the two entires but mal and the streaming sites group them together.

Digital and cel both have they're ups and downs, anime took awhile to really get cel animation, it's why early digital cartoons digital colors look better than most digitally colored anime from back in the day, wasn't till the mid 00's they finally got it. It's more about the use of colors and how they play than the tool used. I mean why doesn't Japan do more stop motion huh? because it's not standard, you got old standards change you might not like it but that life, digital is the standard now.

that's great but anime writing was pure garbage in the cel era, there's great exceptions but the 2000s and early 10s are the peak for me regarding anime that both look good and are actually interesting and engaging.

You think shlock like MiA, OPM and Psycho Pass have great writing? the 10s were incredibly lame writing wise.

Compare the outlines (obvious with white hair).
Look at how the character glows for no reason in digital ones just like in every anime since 2005, while the cel images don't and have dirty colors.

If you mean peak to peak than you lose because logh is old anime.
