Current best public model is 4x_eula_digimanga_bw_v1_860k. Performance is probably good enough to use on low-quality raws but tread with caution. Releasing at 4x is senseless, downscale to 2x or lower. Performance on screentones is hit and miss, you may need to denoise first to get clean ordered tones. Make sure raws are leveled before upscaling.

When I have to do a very RD-heavy chapter I proceed like so:
First I clean the chapter, marking ones with heavy RD. I then make the script. Once that is done I load up typesetter with only the marked pages. I then proceed to paste the text over the hard RDs, adjusting dialogue as necessary (I do that with regular text as well, that's how I cope with not having a proofreader). This process takes the longest, because even after placing the text you'd need to do some very difficult RD unless you don't care at all about ugly text placement. It's only after this that I really begin typesetting. After a few months of following this routine I've been capable of RDing fairly well anything that comes my way. Considering that I started from absolutely nothing I am pretty happy about this.

Is there a sane way to losslessly convert 1000+ .gif files to .png?
I've been looking at the Nausicaä release on nyaa and all the pages are gif files for some reason. I converted a couple manually to .png and ran them through pingo and all the filesizes were at least 10% smaller.
I'd be okay with gifs but MComix shits itself every time it tries to open an archive with files in that format.

Have you tried ffmpeg? Unless you wrote your own png encoder and fucked it up, saving anything as png should be lossless.
