Are you a fan of animation as a whole, or just anime?
Are you a fan of animation as a whole, or just anime?
Nobody likes your western faggot toons, to answer your underlying question. Westerners are the greatest cancer on this earth. Go back.
Why so hostile?
fuck you spongebob is/was hell of based
What anime is this character from?
personally I think I'm a fan of animation worldwide.
There was an unbelievably profane Finnish cartoon I used to watch when I was in europeland;
I used to follow a couple of chinese cultivation cartoons for a while, but it's hard as fuck to find subs for actual chinese cartoons. (or at least it was, I don't know if that's changed)
and when I was in the philippines there was a show I used to watch but never actually learned the name of.
and here in america... I guess the most recent american cartoon I've watched was Dragon Prince, which wasn't bad.
if you'd've asked me this question twenty-five years ago I'd've given you the answer as a hardcore weeb- and in japanese. Now I'm a fucking granddad and I don't really give a fuck anymore. Anime has become too formulaic.
Honest question.
How many of you guys watch anime and ONLY anime?
And why limit yourself to only one specific medium of entertainment?
I love anime
Why would I watch other garbage?
Western entertainment is cultural poison intended as warfare to destroy everything good in the world.
All animation though I usually stay with anime. Mainly because it isn’t as restricted with what it can do with animation, though there’s still some really good animated stuff outside nipland even now(spider-verse, French mountain climbing one, wolfwalkers)
How about soviet entertainment?
This is a loaded question. Stop trying to discuss cartoons on Any Forums. Fuck off
...
Who gives a fuck, Japan is the only relevant thing on Any Forums so go back.
anime means animation in japanese
I watch Any Forumsshit but anime is the only medium where I regularly watch new stuff just to be disappointed by it
Any Forums will never admit that the best animation of all time, acknowledged by famous Japanese animators themselves, aren't even from Japan.
LETS FUUUKING GO SLAVS
I like anime seperately from the rest of animation. But I do love animation as a whole too.
No, I watch movies, series, read lit, play vidya etc. If you don't you'll start to crave something that anime just isn't suited for, then watch mediocre shows that scratches that itch when you could be diving into another medium and experience a great work instead. Also you need a break or the fucking visuals and voices will break your mind, I can't imagine watching anime every day for years.
I was a fan of western animation before I found anime. I was a fan of both in the 90s. But I lost interest in western animation because Hollywood killed it. Japan stayed the course so I still like that.
Basically, I'm a fan of animation as a whole. But the west killed their animation industry. And they're slowly trying to take over Japans by buying the publishing companies. Hopefully Japan will kick them out before they succeed.
Animation in general. The works of Rene Laloux, Gerald Potterton, or Karel Zeman are definitely more impressive than most Japanese anime. Zeman's setpieces alone even in non-animated films destroy the art direction of 99.99% of Japanese anime. It would also depend on the animation, though. If live action and animation are both allowed to be involved, I'd say Nobuhiko Ôbayashi gives most directors throughout media history a run for their money. 90s experimental western animation was also really neat. Aeon Flux and Liquid Television highlighted a lot of looked-over talent. It's too bad everyone going 3D outside of Japan now.
Only glorious Japanese animation folded over 1000 times
it's from a manga
There's animation outside anime?
