The real question is why would they want to. Isekai protagonists are mostly low functioning sociopaths. The majority treat their second life like a video game (a problem probably exacerbated by the fact that most isekai worlds literally are just video games), and treat the act of killing with all the severity of killing a nameless NPC in Skyrim. Their second chance is just a chance for an uninhibited rape and murder spree that whatever deity reincarnated them must tacitly approve of.
Obviously, the entire genre isn't like that, but the exceptions are really the exceptions. For every isekai hero that's well adjusted (or at least eventually gets his shit together like Subaru), there's 10 more that become the anime equivalent of a murder hobo. Though it's easy to forget how many there are, because 90% of isekai series run out of steam and get cancelled or go on permanent hiatus because the writer had no plans beyond 'NEET gets reincarnated, gets overpowered ability, kills some dudes and/or buys a sex slave'. There's nowhere for the story to go, so it just falls flat.
