Post anime nobody cares about that were supposed to be big hits
I love that one!
honestly I tried watching both of the boogiepop anime and neither of them were that good
In before someone posts FMP, at least I personally cared about IV.
>anime nobody cares about that were supposed to be big hits
I feel like this is the case for almost every anime people are hopeful for. The only exceptions are series that are too big to not attract the mass like SNK or CSM or literal no-names nobody has ever heard of before the anime came. Usually they are weird in some way or weirdly drawn too.
That code geass light that sunrise made a while ago, I dont even remember any of it.
Really liked this one, I feel is underrated.
i prefer it to phantom (i like both)
might just be because i'm a brainlet and like cute girls tho
I like it, the soundtrack is incredibly good.
>I feel like this is the case for almost every anime people are hopeful for.
nah anime just sucks dick now, lets rewind to the big meme three of 2011
>Madoka was the next show by shaft/shinbo already well known for gatari and SZS and a bunch of other stuff, with writing by urobutcher (already known for saya no uta) and music by kajura (already known for noir, .hack and my-hime) - only people who didn't know anything about anime at the time were surprised about what this show was like given these people working on it
>Steins;gate was an adaption of something so successful it made japanese people buy the xbox animated by the katanagatari studio with people behind shit like rozen maiden behind the directing/scripting
>FMA brotherhood was a high profile remake for one of the biggest gateway anime in the 00's
People were hyped for all of these things and even if people a decade later can say they're overrated the reason they were overrated is because people were excited for them and then they delivered something enjoyable so their hype felt rewarded. Now we get shit that should've been a slam dunk but they drop the ball in either the animation, the release schedule, or just make a fucking strange adaption.
FMP is a timeless classic
nah FMAB is garbage
Boogiepop was only ever popular in Japan and it was decently hyped and liked over there
>music by kajura
>my-hime
is this any good?
love the noir and .hack OSTs (and odd bee train direction)
>manga adaptation
>anime adaptation
>TRPG adaptation
>console game adaptation
>mobile game adaptation
It seems like the author and the publisher wanted Grancrest to be the next big thing but everything failed miserably.
I feel bad for them, because Grancrest isn't actually a bad LN, it's just completely overshadowed by the Isekai fad.
Watch more anime
mai-hime is pretty good, it feels like people who would go on to make geass trying to do their own utena. music and animation are great, very melodramatic or very goofy with a questionable ending
It was never going to be a big hit.
But it could have been a lot better. I still liked it though.
On the other hand Sony did keep astroturfing until it started actually working
Absolutely no one cared about Re:Creators outside of the first few episodes.
Tried too hard to ride the connection to Lodoss while not being remotely as good as Lodoss had been.
Old one was better but this was still pretty good.
lol this was horrendous that even the author almost killed himself.
Madoka is mediocre
I don't know why people expected it to be a big hit with enemies unironically called "haters" and "seenoevil" but it was funny to laugh at the train wreck.
I fucking loved it
It started off fine. It just completely shat its pants and just rolled around in its filth praising Nurgle by the end.
