I changed the structure of my 3x3 to be less weebish and be more neutral. The category is animated *movies*. It counts. Also, Ratatouille is the best western animated movie and the only good Pixar film.

This is Any Forums though, why’d you feel the need to showcase your taste as a whole in an explicitly anime/manga thread?

My favourite manga (not counting ongoing ones like Gokushufudou, or really heavy psychogical ones like Chi no Wadachi or Sensei no Shiroi Uso)!

Hard disagree. Toy Story 1 is fucked by early animation which holds it back. Pixar knew that they lacked the technology to do humans and animals which is why focused on toys, yet still animated humans and animals, who look like shit. The themes of both are overall meh that reality isn't really magical or amazing but you can still find some joy. Not really amazing. Incredibles is a flawed movie from people who like Brad Bird but don't realize that his themes are contradictory in regards to superhumans and geniuses and capitalism, as evidence with Bob disliking his job and Syndrone monologuing like his boss. The end theme of The Incredibles is that geniuses are just too good for society and can't hurt the feelings of lesser beings so being close 2nd best rather than 1st is good enough, as evidenced by Dash's victory at the end. In the end, the state regulated those who are great and you can't beat the state. Ratatouille argues otherwise: geniuses should say fuck everyone and show that they are the best. The end movie shows Remy overcoming all odds and even when the state shuts him down, he doesn't give a fuck and opens his own restaurant and thrives. QED Ratatouille is thematically better than Incredibles. People arguing otherwise are just into capeshit. And if you disagree with me further, you can just hop on youtube and look for a 40-minute Ratatouille analysis that goes into this further.

Most of the picks are anime/manga. To complain about a single addition is just petty. Unless you believe that anime isn't animation?

I don't care about whether your tastes are good or bad. Just saying that you should keep anime grids anime, on an anime board.

I didn’t say your tastes were bad at all stop being so insecure, I just said incredibles and toy story were better. If you can’t enjoy films with outdated but still serviceable animation and viewpoints that differ from your own then that’s sad, I don’t give a shit about the political message of incredibles but even if I did whether it aligns with my own doesn’t matter too much. I enjoy films that challenge my views and make me think, maybe you should try thinking more you might find yourself not getting wound up so easily.
