It's a breath of fresh air in a medium filled with Isekais and wish fulfillment. It's not high literature but at least it takes influence from other sources instead of going the typical incestuous re-use of anime/manga tropes that everyone already knows.

CSM has similar components that make it a wish fulfillment. You have a teenage boy who, at a moment's notice, turns into a literal chainsaw with absurd powers trapped in an immortal body. You have several females throwing themselves at him on different occasions most of which get rejected mostly because of plot reasons, but it's clear that is trying really hard to make it appeal to the average horny 16 years old boy out there. Admittedly not as much as Isekais and the like, but it's effectively playing on the same field.

I can agree with that, but one should also realize that it took heavy influence from other sources in the same industry such as devilman, dorohedoro etc. Someone who has already read dozens of manga with the general framework of an overly crude world with monsters and lots of blood, that kind of thing also shouldn't take them by surprise.
