It's one of the very very few sci-fi anime I watched the last 12 years that were actually good. I didn't watch it when it came out back then sadly. Not sure why not anymore.

I watched it. I haven't read the manga or the TV series. It was pretty meh. You can tell it is really rushing a longer story, makes it feel very fragmented and looses a lot of impact.
I liked how it looked, however.

The TV series is actually the best one despite the stilted animation but it kind of rushes itself during the final couple episodes.

where can i read the full Toward the Terra manga in english online?
so far i've only been able to find 3 out of the 5 volumes available in english

Read 400 pages of the manga and it was really boring and bad to me. No offense meant. Looking forward to hearing good things about it in this thread.

I read it, it's pretty good. It's also probably the best treatise on why telepaths suck only beat by X-men comics

I watched the old movie and it made me not want to see anything related to it. It was on a thread that someone mentioned how the manga was much better that made me take a peek. I love the manga. It is gorgeous and makes me sad that shoujo has devolved into just romance.

I only saw the TV series when it came it out and I enjoyed it mostly. I haven't listened to the OP and ED in a long time so have a bump for getting me to listen to them again because they're really good.
