Previous: Ryuunosuke and Shinpei immediately took the fight to Shide but that seemed to do little in the way of slowing him down. In fact, he seemed to be mostly ignoring them while instead focusing his attention on Ushio so Ushio changed the shotgun for a copy of Nagumo's sledgehammer. That seemed to slow Shide down a bit and he responded by using Haine's memories to form his own rifle while using his echo to attack Ryuunosuke who tried to come from behind.
Ryuunosuke continued his desperate attack trying to give Shide no time to breathe. When Shide reached out to grab Ushio, Ryuunosuke smashed his arm with the hammer while punching him as hard as he could, practically destroying Shinpei's hand. Shide fired but copying Ushio's trick, transferred his consciousness into the bullet and appeared behind him, attacking and slicing off Shinpei's left arm. But while it started to seem hopeless and Ryuunosuke and Ushio began to despair, Shinpei reassured them that they could still turn the tables and win.
Because this ends on an odd number of chapters I'll do three today and the last two chapters tomorrow. Since this is also the end of the fight against Shide and one of these chapters is short, I figure it's best to do it all in one go.
