Why are 90% of isekais set in JPRG fantasy worlds?

Why don't they use a wider range of settings? I think people would hate isekai less if they did.

Nobody hates isekai. It's sweeping the world.

>Nobody hates isekai.
You sure about that? I see people complaining about it all the time both here and on MyAnimeList.

I've seen it in manga sometimes and plenty in LN itss just they never get popular and get axed or end early

It doesn't matter if people that aren't part of the audience don't like it.

intellectual bankruptcy, same as with all areas of anime - just copy popular anime and rehash it 1000x with slight variations on the fanservice to keep the coomers interested

It was a typo
>nobodies hate isekai

People here would complain about winning the lottery.

How tall is Kazuma again?

The J in JRPG stands for Japanese. They love Draqon Quest and it is likely also nostalgia by this point too. I think isekai is fine as a genre and there will be better and worse shows within it. It is easy writing as well as drawing too. If an isekai is hated, it is 95% shitty writing I suspect, with the other 5% being douches who use the word trope and other buzzwords.

WHY IS THIS CREATIVELY BANKRUPT GENRE CREATIVELY BANKRUPT
I DONNO(~_~;)

>Nobody hates isekai.
factually false
i hate them

Because Dragon Quest is an institution and the people writing isekai are ripping off earlier isekai who used generic JRPG land due to Dragon Quest being an institution.

Why do people that don't watch isekai have such strong opinions on it?

>90% of isekais set in JPRG fantasy worlds
They aren't.

It's largely replaced traditional fantasy anime. It's honestly quite impressive how modern fantasy isekai makes something like Record of Lodoss seem relatively unique these days when Lodoss itself was based off a generic D&D campaign. I almost wish they would redo Lodoss with the modern isekai approach where characters talk about their stat sheet or how they rolled a natural 20 to avoid the dragon's attack.

No it hasn't. Partly because there is still non-isekai fantasy anime made all the time, more or less regardless of how narrow your definition of "fantasy" is. But besides that the idea of one genre or show "replacing" another just isn't how the industry works.

It's easier to self insert for 1337 gamer fags and pretend that time wasted playing video games wasn't wasted.

Would watch an isekai that took a similar approach as twewy. Since you could make the argument that twewy is an isekai. I know it had an anime adaption, but it didn't do the source material justice.
