This anime is dreadful, how did it become so popular?

>shonen must consoom
Normalfags only care about how pretty it looks, everything else is secondary. Same as KnY, really.
Honestly user, what should be popular? Lain, Paprika, Sonny Boy, etc? What did you expect it to be like? Clockwork Orange, Vertigo, Taxi Driver, etc? It's a shonen, so it's going to be like a shonen. This is what the masses like and what becomes popular.
Wit carried that eyesore of a manga, let's not kid ourselves. It also emotionally manipulates the viewer with SCREAMS and GORE and CRYING etc
Does anyone have the edited panel of Zeke screaming nigger?
bruh
Factor of mystery is what makes aot interesting and worth watching.
Good soundtrack and animation, that's it.
Anyone that watched it hated the pacing and the quality of writing especially in S2
It's absolutely incredible. Sorry you're dead inside.
all the mystery reveals ended up being disappointing though and most of the stuff was just forcefully hidden from the reader/viewer so that they don't spoil future events which crippled the storytelling
Is he right?
Sorry you have no taste
Nta but yes, you're correct. However, OP asked about S1 and why people bothered picking it up
season 3 retraoctively makes the first two seasons much more interesting imo
In a perfect world, the hack author would have written both Cuckren and the alliancefaggots in such a way that everybody could root and understand both sides
dumb take, a fictional story should always make you root for a side
What, nigger? Gonna say something?
The mystery reveals were the absolute best part of the series, it was only after them that it decayed.
What did you expect the answers to be? Some ultra cliche "titans are the result of a failed military experiment and this is the future"? At least we got something interesting out of it.
>The mystery reveals were the absolute best part of the series, it was only after them that it decayed.
The only real "mystery" part about the story was the basement shit that the author kept dragging up until the end of S3, and the revelation was absolutely garbage and not worth all the build up. Especially now in hindsight how shit the story turned out to be. He tried it again with Eren, but that backfired sure enough
Millions of dollars in advertisements
Nta but the "outside world exist and it's advanced" is an even bigger cliche
SnK would have been legendary if it ACTUALLY tried to show that eldians are fucking monsters and deserve to be extermianted
Honestly barring the last season, what's bad about it? It has a great story, compelling mysteries and fantastic animation and soundtrack. Don't fall into the popular=bad shit
should have stuck to being a survival story about the last survivors fighting monsters, all the politics and mystery boxes turned it into pretentious drivel and ruined it
the last season is great so far too
it's the manga ending that has turned so many people off, the anime is still solid through and through
>what's bad about it?
The writing, pacing, worldbuilding, plot armour, contrivances, asspulls and fake outs
