Clannad & Clannad After Story

What do you think about the show ?
Who is your fav character ?

First season is an ok harem show, second season is a horrible melodrama where the protagonist and his best friend are completely character assassinated. And yes, I know Any Forums loves the second season because it is superficially "deep" in exploring a young man's struggles post-high school, still shit.

garbage-tier torture porn typical of everything Key does.
AIR:
>here is cute thing.
>let's do horrible things to her.
>feel sad.
>here is another, cuter thing.
>let's do horrible things to her.
>feel sad.
Kanon
>here is cute thing.
>let's do horrible things to her.
>feel sad.
>here is another, cuter thing.
>let's do horrible things to her.
>feel sad.
Clannad
>here is cute thing.
>let's do horrible things to her.
>feel sad.
>here is another, cuter thing.
>let's do horrible things to her.
>feel sad.
Shit writing.
I like the well-done art and direction and pacing, I just hate the hamfisted and lazy storytelling.

Kotomi. I kept this pic always as a background on my phone

This. Nakiges are all terrible including CLANNAD. And whatever you do, don't play the VN. Nagisa is even uglier.

Great anime, i love it

So many filtered anons ITT
Clannad is the greatest love story ever told

Go back to watching lowest common denominator crap like Your Name.

i love all the clannads but i love my wife kyou the most

The most boring show I've ever watched and a very poor adaptation of the source material.

Your Name and Clannad appeal to the exact same people.

Intellectuals

Gotta love Clannad Afterstory. Jun Maeda wrote this and then never managed to write something nearly as good even if it's been well over a decade. Afterstory might be superficial, but it's still deeper than any anime has gone into themes of loss and questions on what makes life worth living, which says more about anime in general than it says about Clannad Afterstory.
Memories are pretty much the most important thing you can create in your life, and these can only be made by embracing the present and its subtle pleasures. Suffering is guaranteed regardless of how good life gets, it's the embraced small moments and the things one does for others that matter in the end.
This anime has affected me strongly and made my life better.

How the fuck is it deep? Everything about loss was superficial. You guys really abuse that word. Again, I've not read/watched one nakige that wasn't complete drivel appealing to base emotions in the most obvious way.

Mushoku Tensei after volume 12 does very similar stuff to Clannad After Story except there is far less "feel sad" moments

I thought the Key adaptations were all garbage, even Angel Beats
Watch Ef instead and thank me later pleb op

>fav

Clannadman was an unstoppable harem machine and he picked the cockroach in the end. Ridiculous.
Ef was great. But there is nothing wrong with the adaptations by Kyoani. High quality and well done.

Just don't watch Melodies.

In what way exactly? No character goes through clannadman emotional road trip, and if you mean Paul dying, or maybe Rudeus dealing with it, this is hardly clannad material, since Rudy relationship with Paul was never strained in the way Tomoya was with his dad

Fuko!

I will probably try

Wrong pic but they're the same anyway.

That is why Rewrite is best KEY vn, shame about anime though.

Key magic sucks. Should've ended shortly after Tomoya accepting the things he went through and moving on with Ushio.
>"you don't get it, the lights are part of the narrative!"
and they make the story worse, just like in Kanon.

Did you even read my post you apenigger.
I said it's shallow, but still deeper than anything else from anime.

Well I said that there is far less "feel sad" moments, because it's a far more optimistic story in general. It's mostly similar in how Rudeus becomes a responsible father, but there are still moments of emotional road trip both for the characters and the reader like the Diary Arc, Rudeus blaming himself for Pax's death, Rudeus discovering his mother's memories etc.

Nah, it needed a poorly written deus ex machina in order to ruin the ending and reverse all character growth and narrative until the ending rendering all of the preceding episodes moot.
