How would things have changed if Luffy had been piloting Eva Unit 01?

Or are we imagining a scenario where Unit01 has the soul of Luffys mother so he can synch with it?
But is Gendo still Gendo or is he also replaced by Dragon? And does Gendo still have the same plan as before or did Yui never die?
If we are just talking about fighting the angels, then Luffy should have an easier time against most of them since he is more experienced in combat overall and has more confirence.
However, Zeruel would buttfuck Luffy and he would stand 0 chance. Luffy does not romantically love other characters so there would be no situation where he goes into berserk mode and thus can never overcome the AT field of Zeruel.

AT fields are like haki so he just needs nakama power
