What would happend if anime had the budget of western cartoons?

Adventure Time was great for the first few seasons then it took a nosedive and I stopped watching all together when Finn got cucked by the retarded cinnamon bun. Found out later he got cucked even harder because the vampire and princess were dykes all along.

I thought the issue with japanimation isn't even the budget, but the limited amount of talent. You could argue if they pay their talent more, they could me cultivated. But just having more budget wouldn't magically increase the animation quality.

One of these is causing the other. Lower budgets means less pay for animators and less animators being able to survive on their pay. So you just outsource to unskilled chinese and korean sweatshops. There isnt a lack of talent but a lack of pay to produce talent.

Should have specified those with decent budgets perhaps, but even those with a poorer animation quality still usually maintain that same amount of quality throughout the show. Anime studios however tend to save all their effort for big events/fights at the expense of the rest of the show. I only really watch anime nowadays but I’m still not a fan of sakuga, especially when current sakuga is way too frantic and often interlaced with cg

Its all on allocation and there are diminishing returns beyond that.
If more money goes to animators, thats a good thing. But a heavy limiter on anime is the production rate of shows. They're done faster than most Western shows and with comparatively higher detail art styles, generally.
There is a certain amount of parallelization that just hiring more animators will get you, but there are limits on that.
Nah, generally something like Adventure Time has consistently smoother animation than most all anime series, outside of the obvious exceptions.

In appearance, no. As facilitatory as the Adventure Time artstyle is to easy smooth animation, its really ugly.
And the writing of the show isn't that much to speak of either. Getting overly mired in YA level romance and character drama. Losing the actually fun part of the show.

They'd hire more expensive VAs.

Its an ugly style, but it does great for smooth animation.
Trying to call Adventure Time ever choppy in its animation or movement is just denying reality.

Bad choreography, the main issue there, doesn't make the animation itself less fluid.
The director there can't make a fight scene to save their life, but the animation itself is fantastically fluid.

Most of the money for production goes to seiyuus, not animators. You'd probably only see in a jump in voice acting quality with that much more money.

It might have a lot of flash-like "smooth" animation for random hand-waving while talking and walking but who the fuck cares about that? When it comes to animation that actually matters, like action scenes or important emotional moment scenes, it can't hold a candle to good anime.

Also it's not even true that smooth animation is better. Good animators use lower frame-rate to emphasize speed during action scenes and such.

Animators in Japan are meant to work themselves to death, not to earn money.
