Kimetsu no Yaiba

Do you think any demons had friendships with each other?

yes, douma really likes akaza

maybe? they say they didn't all meet for at least 100 years at the UM meeting iirc

Wouldn't call them friendships.
But Gyokko/Douma seems to banter with each other just fine, it helps that they are both irredeemable pieces of shit.
Koku was probably the closest to a companion Muzan had.

We don't have much info on other relationships besides Akaza hating Douma's guts and Akaza wanting to beat Koku and him being amused by seeing his potential.

Who knows, possibly, demons like Rui and Gyuu/Daki are obsessed with relationships to the point it defines their whole being, so they may welcome others or just rebuff everyone outside their vision. But considering how much of a petty asshole Muzan is I wouldn't be surprised if he punishes them for that, if only to keep his followers in line and they don't get any weird ideas that'd jeopardize his absolute rule.

Temari Girl and Arrow Guy became quick, casual friends according to the Taisho Secret after one of their episodes.

shes mine! and snek cant have her...

Rui view on relationship isn't a good way to make friend. His view was that everyone has a role to play and you can only be his friend if he want you to play that role.

Likewise Daki & Gyuutarou are violently jealous of others and probably wouldn't associate with someone who had a better life than them, on top of their own antisocial personalities.

Ironically enough he'd actually probably like Daki/Gyuu because they could fulfill the idea that 'older siblings protect the younger ones.'
Granted I think Muzan really just fucked with his head in how he views family, because he's both taught to become powerful, but also ends up in a position where he wants to be protected. And yet can't be protected because the only demons he can reasonably control to become part of his family have to be weaker than him, and thus ends up punishing them and keeping genuine bonds from forming.
He's really stuck in a self-destructive loop.

Trying to humanizing demons was a waste of time and ultimately redundant because it doesn't change any demon slayer's opinions or the goals of the organization. Everyone wants to genocide them regardless of their dumb ass tragic backstory.

I think Rui would either not like Daki or Gyutaro simply because they won't put him before their real sibling. Rui want to be protect by his family, be the center of love and affection of his family. Meanwhile Daki and Gyutaro would care about each other more than him, thus can't fulfill the role he wants.

They're not immensely rabid and could think rationally, I don't think it's too farfetched. Heck, I'd go as far to say that there's lovers even.
>tfw your demon waifu gets butchered in front of you and all you can do is watch

>if it doesn't change things it doesn't matter
well gee why do hashira even have personalities at all then

>Let ignore the theme of the work because it doesn't advance the plot
Are you the GoT writers?

Yes user, but the audience cares and bland evil villains are one of the worst mistakes you can make in writing a story. Tanjirou is also highlighted as being "kind" to demons as in he cares about their plight and is determined to save the human they once were, contrasted to all other slayers (except maybe Giyuu) who don't give a crap and just want to do their job, or violently hate demons.

True, it'd depend on if Daki/Gyuu would want to connect with him in the first place. They might find his own need of family interesting, at least. And Gyuu likes any kind of facial markings so that might help in Rui's case.
Through them he might be able to learn what real family is like. But it's all just fun speculation in the end.

Are you aware the first episode of this series features Tanjirou desperately trying to save his demon imouto against common sense?

Honestly, I think it just goes against demon nature for them to inhabit the same space as they're all apex predators and there's only so much meat to go around. I reckon it would just be instinct to spread out - like how the demons captured for the exams fought over prey.

That said if they aren't all forced into the same hunting range and starved perhaps they could get along better or even well? is a good example, although I don't think the two of them would have formed their friendship if weren't placed together by Muzan.

>Honestly, I think it just goes against demon nature for them to inhabit the same space as they're all apex predators and there's only so much meat to go around.
From that logic, there would've been at least some sort of "pack hunters" then. Why work alone when you can work with others and potentially bag more kills. Then again, they're demons so backstabbing might be expected.
