Ohma is such an awesome guy. I'm glad he managed to make it through the annihilation tournament without dying - he threw up a lot of flags in that last chapter, but he managed to pull through anyway.
I especially liked that part in Omega, where everyone realized what a terrible character Koga was, so Yamashitakazuo decided to replace him with Ohma. Chapter 50, where Ohma asked him if he wanted to fight too, facing down the worm was really emotional. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who teared up a little bit.
Ohma simply gets things done. He’s a fighter who has the lives of all of the Kengan Association riding on his shoulders. He carries that weight and won't let it break him. He values the lives of other people - he cares about what happens to them, and when Erioh dies, the knowledge that he’s partially responsible starts to build up on his shoulders. But does he give up? No way. He just keeps going along, trying not to crack under the pressure.
This comes as a contrast to Koga, who, when Ryuki talked to him, decided to talk back, dooming his friends to a horrible death. He even knew he didn’t qualify to fight Purgatory, but rather than say anything, he decided to waste even more people’s time. In the end, the only reason he bothered to stop chasing a spot in the tourney is because the worm finally decided to kill him; he might not care if other people died, but once his life was in danger, then he'll do something about it. He's selfish and a sociopath.
Ohma however, didn't hesitate. He went to fight the worm when he (thought) he knew who it was. He wasn't going to let anybody else die. He's smart, beautiful, nice and mature. And to top it all off, he's a god damned hero.
He’s an awesome guy. And I for one am very glad that, rather than dying a senseless death in the previous series, he instead survived and hooked up with Karla. He earned that little slice of happiness.
