How much anime does someone have to watch for you to take their opinion seriously? At least 300? Are there any certain shows that people have to watch before giving their opinion?

Man just watch good anime and have good opinions, a guy can watch 1000 shit isekai anime and he'll have a shittier opinion than a guy who only watched Akira and lain for example

They have to have actually watched a specific anime before giving their opinion on it. Most of the time it feels like that's asking too much though.

I don't take seriously people who have seen hundreds of short 80s and 90s OVAs and avoid TV series.

At the very least they need to understand the main themes and character arcs of the shows they HAVE watched to be respectable

At least 1000 different series. Just watching the highest rated shit on mal or the most popular shit of the season will never allow you to acquire good taste. You have to watch some stuff generally regarded as good, some stuff generally regarded as shit and everything else in between. If you only watch one or the other you'll never know which is which.

Shounenbabies for example only watch popular shounenshit which makes their opinions the worst of the worst, but in their minds they're watching the best of the best.

At least one good anime and at least one bad anime. I don't trust someone's opinion based on how much they've seen, I trust it based on how well they demonstrate their ability to discern quality. If a guy watched every anime ever made and his absolute favorite was Fruits Basket I wouldn't respect his opinion.

Watching lots of anime doesn't matter unless you're giving an opinion about anime trends. If your opinion is about PriPara then you should have watched PriPara. If your opinion is on the relative merits of PriPara and Doki Doki Precure then you should have watched those. If your opinion is on Modern Anime as a whole then you should have watched a decent amount and variety of modern anime.
This should not be a difficult concept to grasp.

Okay user you're clearly new here, so let me clue you in on a little secret: Any Forums is an anonymous board, and no one knows how much anime you're watched when you make a post, and if you actually add "I've watched XXX anime" to it then you will be rightfully laughed out. I take people's opinions seriously when those opinions make sense and whoever expressed them isn't an obvious retard. It has very little to do with how much anime you've watched (unless you've only watched a handful and have literally no basis of reference for anything) and much more to do with making sure what you're saying makes some sort of sense. "Go watch 300 anime before posting" is just to filter out those anons who cannot grasp this simple truth.
