Still don't see how the saiyan's strategy of sending their infant children to planets and expecting them to successfully genocide the planet was expected to work unless they figured they'd do it over like 20 years as a guerilla war until they grew up.
As a young kid, Goku wasn't very strong: He wasn't. There was a shit ton of times he ran into people who kicked his ass and then only got stronger after they agreed to help him train or get stronger: Fuck, normal people with just normal (by their world) technological weaponry was a threat to him for the first half of the series after all.
And Earth is weak; PITIFULLY weak. Their strongest beings like Kami and Piccolo are basically jokes compared to normal foot soldiers from most other planets in existence in dragon ball. Even if Goku had turned into a great ape as a child, he STILL would have been of little threat to the world at large until he'd been taken under the training of masters like roshi or the others.
This might have made sense if Goku was unusually weak for a saiyan child, but he was of "average" strength as a kid, so almost all saiyan children being sent to planets should have been killed pretty quickly on all but the weakest of planets (Given how Earth was one of the wimpiest out there)
db started as a comedic adventure manga with supernatural elements. you're ascribing way more thought than you need to and are treating this story way more seriously than even the author.
Blake Rogers
The monkeys are retarded, more at 11.
Angel Wood
It's been forever since I've paid attention DB/DBZ but didn't he hit his head as a baby? Maybe he lost some of his fighting prowess along with his aggression. But then he can't be that strong to begin with if a hit to the head would do something like that.
Camden Wright
Wasn't it explained that the really weak babies were basically exiled to far away planets? If they died, good riddance. If they DID manage to conquer it, it's a win
Blake Davis
In the anime at least, it seemed like the act of sending them to a planet to destroy as a baby was a right of passage in an otherwise eugenic society where only the strong survive.
Colton Ortiz
Your over thinking it. This was a gag manga that changed into one upmanship. The fact that it went on so long that short explanations got longer and expanded didn't help. They fit the story's purpose as does the cannon that changes things.
Christopher Russell
but if Goku was an average power baby, then their society would have been on a steep, steep population decline, since very few would survive
Bentley Russell
He wasn't, he was considerably weak with a power level of 1
Leo Richardson
>speedreader and Z watcher kill yourself mate. Saiyans are a violent race, even with his real base power he was stronger then any human, weapons didn't do much damage to him (bulma shoot him several times with an mp5 and barely scratched him) also take into account the fact of Ohzaru transformation and the plan was perfect as well their space ship able to create a fake full so they would transform in ohzaru all time during nights. next time learn your shit faggot
Ryan Fisher
>weak babies goku power as baby 500 roshi power after hundred of years of training 850 goku ohzaru power over 50 thousand.
Carter Scott
nope it wasn't 1 it was 500 power, compare that to broly 15 thousand or vegeta 18 thousand or bardock 23 thousand and so on and you see why he was called weak, the weakest saiyan was raditz with 1500 of power
Leo Gomez
>as a baby Toriyama recently recton this, he was a full grown toddler in saiyan armor when he landed on earth. Everything else was anime original.
Justin Brooks
No it wasn't lmao, Krillin had a power level of about 216 in the beginning of Z when Bulma checked him and Roshi with the scouter she got from Raditz
Colton Edwards
what happened to his saiyan armor?
Eli Butler
>goku ohzaru power over 50 thousand. Oozaru is a multiplier of 10 not 100. You think oozaru is stronger than super Saiyan?
Blake Cox
Toriyama forgot, thanks for reading Super
Daniel Gray
And yet a plane dropping a bomb into his face almost did him in... which means his power couldn't have been 500, or he wouldn't have even FELT that in great ape form (5000 power level)
Luis Powell
Okay
Jaxon Davis
Its because of the great ape transformation caused by the full moon. They expected that when the infant transforms, nobody on the planet would be able to stop them, and all life would die.
Xavier King
Here's a better question: when the babies fly around in space to get to the planets they inadvertently pass moons as they go by why aren't there any suffocated monkeys in space?
