Rotoscoping

What's your opinion on rotoscoping in anime?

It's a useful technique and has been done well like in your clip or Jin-Roh.

My opinion is that that dance is cute and sexy as hell.

looks shit

Great if used as a tool, shit if used as a crutch.

dont like it at all much rather they just animate it regularly

soulless

When aren't they used as a crutch?

Imagine all the time used to make that animation that could have gone to something good

It looks unintentionally hilarious every single time and will always remind me of the Bakshi adaptation of LotR.

like what? It's not like this is a high intensity action series

Just don't do it in an ugly way like those aku no hana potatoes

A good anime

Absolute dogshit.

Wut? Usually the first thing people are reminded to when they see a rotoscope animation is stuff like vtubers, VRchat or something.

I've been told that Jin-Roh wasn't rotoscoped but I don't believe it.

It actually isn't. The movements are too calculated to be traced from real life motion. It's a form of photorealism in animation and the movie's director is the greatest master of this realist style of animation.

I want to fuck Chika.

I want one that is entirely rotoscoped to see if it looks very fluid.

based, aku no hana is a masterpiece

it is a very old animatin technique and if properly used can have great results.

Sometimes good sometimes bad, just like other methods of traditional animation. All depends on the artist. Speaking of rotoscoping, I take every chance I can to shill the movie "Ongaku" - it makes fantastic use of the technique.

It's a technique that's been around for almost as long as animation has existed as a medium and anyone who bitches about it is genuinely retarded

Kind of this. It's definitely been around for forever, and has been used effectively. But when it is done poorly, like in Aku no Hana, it is more off putting than QUALITY still frame animation.
