True, but you would still see the faces of many criminals on tv/online and tv broadcasters don’t wear masks.
Honestly though, I think Death Note set in today’s world would be pretty interesting.

death note wouldnt work because if I had the note I would fucking destroy everyone involved in evil and there would be no moral against using it. At best you could do something similar to a becoming the evil you are fighting, but since the death note only has so many pages eventually that power will run out and all that would be left is someone who went a little too far and hurt some innocents but the world itself would be better off even if I and some families would be a wreck.
