Why are all the villains in S;G so unbelievably retarded?

How can Okabe escape from seasoned, professionally trained mercenaries who are heavily armed without being injured or killed every single time? Why didn't the mercenaries puppy-guard the time machine, obviously they knew that his accessing it would instantly thwart their mission. Instead of ten men with light arms and smoke grenades, how about sending 50 men with shotguns and explosives? Why did nobody think to cut the power? Or instead of breaking down the door, just lock them in the house and flood it with sleeping gas? Especially when failure to capture the lab members means you lose your only chance at world domination.

worldline convergence

Because they're not the villians, they're mercenaries who know little to nothing of what's going on and just followed orders that day.

They did not know that he had a functioning time-machine.

Because SERN is an international organization with unlimited funding that is so full of themselves they only send a bunch of drug addict retards with some girl suicidal pasty to take care of some young nerds + they only know about the D-mail machine, not the time leap one. Okabe suceeded the first time, so the other times were a given. He could learn from his past experiences while they couldn't. This whole thing is actually the most realistic part of the show

Worldline convergence, aka shit writing.

S;G is bad if you think about it too much.

He didn't escape. He also had Suzuha with her who is also incredibly trained. Without time travel and infinite redos, he would be fucked in the first instance

>he didn't escape
>but he actually did

it wasn't his time to go. they aren't professionally trained. you really think that autistic phone broad was a professional? did you not properly watch the anime?

The fact that the gunmen couldn't do something as simple as just secure the fucking lab with the time device shows how bad S;G's story is and how many holes it has.

He didn't though. They would have caught or killed him after he sent himself back in time.

I feel like all of the characters in the story were sort of retarded.

Muh convergence. He's not supposed to die there so literally the world is written in such a way that it's impossible.

Because he’s destined to escape them

Steins Gate has a lot of asspulls.

the adaptation lacks a lot of explanations and descriptions since they werent in dialogues, i can imagine how confusing some things might be if you only seen the cartoon

>t. didn't read the VN

I dunno, but the guy that was wearing the Hawaiian shirt deserved to die

It boggles my mind how S;G not only became incredibly popular but also well regarded by so many people when major events only happen because the plot requires them to happen regardless of how stupid they are.
Not only that but S;G is also praised for how well it handles time travel when you have shit like Ruka turning into a girl by having Okabe telling Ruka's mom to eat more vegetables. Not only did it work, it worked perfectly and it practically didn't change anything else about the timeline which is just absurd. That's not fucking time travel fuckery, that's literal wish fulfillment.

SERN is very secretive about its objectives. Phone bitch didn't know why they needed the Atari 3000 or whatever the fuck it was and neither did her boss, and all that did was just let you decode their super secret messages.
You think they're gonna tell a bunch of money hungry psychos with guns that these unarmed nerds have a piece of tech that could let its owner rule the world?
