What exactly does Takagi see in Nishikata? At what point exactly during the story does she fall for him? Nishikata seems like your average wimpy 6th grade dude with extra childish behavior yet Takagi never seems to give up on him.

She actually fell foe him since the start of middle school. Even before she knew who he is. It's the cliche "He was kind to me" but with the bonus of Nishikata being easy to read and having funny reactions to getting teased. I assume she only falls deeper into him after that, while also trying to get Nishikata to notice and realize her true feelings for him.
