What killed the hype?

I'd hate to say otherwise but the western fans are vocal about Netflix's policy about releasing all episodes at once, and they are not happy. They're very discontent with the way the release has gone. I guess they were hoping to generate a lot of hype at once. There's even a petition to remove all anime from Netflix and it's garnered thousands of signatures. Obviously that won't happen but it shows how unhappy they are.

I actually thought part 5 was the best animated part, had some real effort put into it, besides one or two stinkers.
3 wasn't really that good animation wise, people seem to forget the final 4 episodes.

No, Jojo taking itself super seriously after part 4 was a terrible decision. It’s constantly making pretentious points about fate and pre-determination while Araki is making shit up on the fly. Parts 2, 3, and 4 was where the series peaked because there were no dumbass philosophy 101 lessons and was just dumb fun.

The whole series would have to be full cgi at that point because the style clashing would just be ugly as hell, and still a pain in the ass
