A very recent favourite, has a very nostalgic early 2000s sound that you don't really hear anymore.

Probably my favorite song of all time.

The sounds track to SIMOUN also stands out as particularly memorable and unique to me.

Most of the classical composers that used to be involved in anime largely left in the mid 2000's. I miss them.
AMAZING GRACE HOW SWEET THE SOUND

Personally, I prefer Aurora, but Beyond The Time is good as well.

This has to be one of the best performances of a simple song in any anime, probably the only reason I remember 5cm per second.
Aurora is so beautiful, I love how classic the composition sounds.
It doesn't sound like the typical "melancholic anime track" that gets cranked out, it's very complex.
I was listening to some nice piano covers of it the other day too.

Literally the only good thing from Eureka Seven AO

Yeah the soundtrack in CCA was incredible, I like Aurora and CCA Main theme due to the oboe solo parts since I've been learning oboe these past couple of months.

ED from Tokyo Underground by Akino Arai (she is an op/ed goldmine. If you don't know her, you shouldn't post here.)

Released right around the same time as Gunbuster. Remarkably similar.
