Very bad example. 11's version is straight up superior. Hanzo looks a lot more menacing, and you get the feeling Gon is genuinely fucked, left is not that impactful, but the animation is still nice.

Doesn't matter, 99 may be better animated in that scene but the scene not only misses the point with the suddenness of Hanzo superiority, but it also looks completely retarded with gon running on the wall.

new one does look better here, but it's not that important of a scene. The fish eye lens thing was done much more often in the old one.

HxH 11 was made with manga readers in mind. HxH 99 was made for anime onlies. One is more faithful, but boring. The other has more creativity, but suffers from production issues once you get into OVA territory. Both have merits.

99 makes gon looks like a fucking ninja, missing the whole point of the scene that was to show how much difference there was between them, what you call "good" animation is mostly just gon running and doing pointless jumps.
