80s- 90s anime and manga

if old anime is so good why does it have mostly 5-6/10 and barely any users on mal?

I have been rewatching some old martial arts anime, mainly Fatal Fury so far. Any suggestions on other well animated stuff of that style? I already did SF II.

ill be honest, it doesnt hold up
the setting is fun as hell
some of the designs are fun as hell
but the execution is lacking

Igano Kabamaru. My first anime I ever watched as a kid and still my favorite. One of the best ninja/comedy/action anime of all times. Also it's fan-translated. It has a strong cult following in Greece and Saudi Arabia.

Another favorite of mine from my childhood (also popular in Greece and Saudi Arabia), Plawres Sanshiro. The ancestor of anime and video games with little robots fights like Angelic Layer and Medabots, with Angelic Layer ripping off its story. Also fan-translated (although the fan-translation has an annoying logo of the fansub group at the whole videos).
