I don't need much convincing for this, after countless rewatches, alone or with others, I keep noticing new things that demonstrate how much thought was put into Haruhi and why it's one of my all times favorite. I don't need much convincing to notice that "Bored MC meets girls who changes his world!" is a trope that can lead to pretty cancerous results depending on how it's done, and clearly the copycats didn't understand what Haruhi was saying about escapism either. Shimoneta might be the Haruhi copycat I hate the most personally, but i'm sure other anons have a hateboner for different copy cats.
