Chapters 117 and 118
Previous: Sou was wondering if, because of the pseudo-loops, Mio had experienced his confession at the festival all the way back during the third loop as well. Mio came in at just that moment and tried to deflect him by claiming to be Shadow Mio but he saw right through it and after being told that nothing would change he told her that Shinpei was up on the roof. Mio went up to see him and finally told him that she loved him but as expected she was shot down because Shinpei is in love with Ushio. Mio merely said that it was something she felt like she needed to say seeing as they could all die tomorrow and that it was a weight off of her chest. Even still, she went back to her room and Tokiko held her as she sobbed with Tokiko calling her brave and saying that if it were her she wouldn't be able to say anything. Shadow Mio pointed out that if they win Ushio will disappear so Mio could still have a chance and Tokiko reiterated that tomorrow, no matter what happened, it'd all be over.
The next day, Shinpei and Tokiko explained about how the loops work and the idea of parallel realities and such to explain Shinpei's idea: that later in the evening just before the fireworks, Ushio's original version will appear on Omoto Beach. Because of how the tides work. she should still be floating in the Kitan Strait just off the coast so knowing Shide and Haine will be looking for her, it's just a matter of getting out there and finding her first. They have an advantage that Haine lacks: the shell with Ushio's memories reacting to her, pointing them where to go. With this, they were ready to get out and bring Ushio back.
