I dislike paneling in many shoujo manga.

Because they're gay.

i barely have time to read shit i'm crazy for

I found a hentai I swear had to have been written by a shoujo mangaka.
Told from the perspective of her college age son. It started with her husband tragically dying in a car accident, about a month later she wakes up having physically regressed to being a teenager. The rest of it was basically her son being extremely protective and rapey while they hide their relationship.
All with borderline shoujo artwork.
Quite a bizarre experience.

Fewer translations

For whatever reason the shoujo scanslation in the west feel a lot less organized and structured than shounen and seinen manga. Kinda reminds me of the live action subs scene, which lacks something like Nyaa (even if some of them use nyaa).

Maybe I am just not looking in the right places.

There used to be huge shoujo groups churning out releases like Chibi, I don't know where they all went?

Because I read josei like a big girl.

I just finished Nana and was furious to discover it's basically on permanent hiatus.

Because I'm too old to tolerate it anymore. Josei, on the other hand, is great.

>The rest of it was basically her son being extremely protective and rapey
What did he protect her from, abstinence?

Reading Heart Break Club at the moment. Its pretty by the numbers but the art is good.

there aren't many good ones

Probably just became all-yaoi

Sauce? Sounds based

I'm not very skilled in finding them on my own. Also lack of exposure, translations, etc etc. I'll read the two posted in the thread since they look good.
Just bought vol 5 of Otome Kaijuu Caramelize yesterday, so I should pirate it for the superior reading experience and do it to it.

What would you classify it as, then? Is it josei?

lmao dont be dense, it's seinen

It must be a really old one because I have read most mother/son hentai and I dont remember seeing this one

I read alot of shoujo manga after reading all the shonen manga at my local library.
I remember reading CLAMP's Kobato W juliet, Ouran Host club, and shugo chara. I'm glad i did read them but Now in days most female oreinted manga are oversaturated with rapey romance. It's the type of shit that makes you wonder "do women really"
Magical girls and tokusatsu the only shit worth getting into it's predictable but thats the appeal

If you so say. It sounds completely incorrect to me, but I don't particularly care about genre classification so what do I know.

Oldschool shoujo is the real shit.

it's not genre it's the demographic, kaiju girl is published in a seinen mag, that's all there is to it

It's definitely nothing new, if anything it used to be even more common in manga.
