This manga is fucking depressing
This manga is fucking depressing
How so?
This reminded me to finish Princess Jellyfish. It's been almost a decade since I read that. Thanks, op
gimme a summary user
It really is. I never really understood why marriage was considered such a big deal in manga, anime and other forms of Japanese media until I read this. Being an unmarried woman over 25 in Japan (and most of Asia, for that matter) is fucking hell on earth.
This could have been much better. I know that one of the points of the story is that the three friends are supposed to be not likeable, but they are so fucking shallow. I can definitely see people relating to them since there is a degree of realism into them, but I wish they were at least more interesting.
Times are changing and dating apps are slowly changing that landscape.
I didn't like the way it played out, either. IIRC the lead's problem was essentially solved because she got together with the young, rich, extremely handsome idol guy, which is about the least realistic and most boring way to handle the issues the manga is meant to address.
>woman in the middle rejected her co-worker 10 years ago because he wasn't cool enough
>said co-worker is currently dating her 19 year old assistant
>woman on the left cheated on and dumped her guitarist boyfriend because he was too poor
>said boyfriend is now part of a successful band and dating a model
I want to feel sorry for these women but I really can't.
Women don't buy this shit to be told to lose weight and take anyone, it's supposed to be fun
>Times are changing and dating apps are slowly changing that landscape.
>Functional relationships from dating apps
Heh. Also, pretty sure those women attend a lot of mixers anyhow and those don't really work.
That's exactly what this manga tells them to do though, sans the lose weight part.
so MC gets with idol guy? Higashimura has married and divorced an actor and a fashion designer, she ain't want no scrubs neither
i was just looking for something to read but im a man it will be depressing for me?
Women in nutshell
Always lying
They do, but they have more options now. Strange but I've already met quite a few couples who stayed together after meeting through a dating app.
Yep. Everything was solved too easily in the end. It felt like a dorama.
>It felt like dorama
Well, isn't it?
Probably.
If you're gonna read anything by Akiko Higashimura, I'd recommend her autobiographical manga Kakukaku Shikajika, especially if you've got artistic aspirations of any kind.
Thanks user ill check it right now
Post-wall whores try to get married before they turn 40.
You forgot
>They all get happy ending because prince Charming come and take them by the hand in a very Disney way
Read her autobiographical manga too. It's really good.
Three friends keep making stupid decisions, one after the other. Fortunately for them, young rich handsome intelligent model is there to keep pointing out how they are morons. Then main character is saved by him.
That one is way better. Tarareba isn't terrible, but it is not a pleasant read. Many people who read it can relate to the stupid decisions part, but in the end the three friends are annoying as fuck.
Wait, what about the sequel? Did the original manga have a proper ending? What is the sequel doing?
